Youssef Ahmed, the new head coach of the Qatar National Team, has been appointed by the Qatari football federation to assist the team during their preparation for the upcoming Asian Cup.
The move comes as a surprise, given that Youssef Ahmed is not currently employed in any coaching capacity. However, he has proven himself to be a highly skilled and experienced coach, with a track record of success at both club and national level.
Youssef Ahmed began his coaching career with Al-Ahli Dubai, where he helped the club win several titles including the Gulf Pro League and the Asian Club Championship. He then moved on to coach the Qatar Under-23 team,Serie A Overview leading them to victory in the 2016 AFC U-23 Championship.
Since then, Youssef Ahmed has coached various clubs in Qatar, including Al-Sadd and Al-Rayyan, helping them to achieve success on the domestic and international stage.
His appointment as head coach of the Qatar National Team was seen as a coup for the Qatari football federation, who have been searching for a capable coach to take over from the departing Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Youssef Ahmed's appointment will no doubt bring fresh ideas and energy to the Qatar National Team, and it remains to be seen how he will fare against some of the top teams in Asia during the upcoming Asian Cup.
